An Inside Look at the Salesforce Winter ’24 Release
November 10, 2023
Alternative asset managers rely on InvestorFlow Pipe as a subscription-based managed solution that expands standard Salesforce CRM capabilities. InvestorFlow enables firms to work more efficiently and streamline processes for fundraising, investor services, deal sourcing, and portfolio management teams.
This means that when Salesforce releases one of its thrice-yearly updates — Winter, Spring, and Summer — alternative asset firms can benefit from the infrastructure and core platform innovations upon which InvestorFlow Pipe is built.
Salesforce core features include accounts & contacts, campaigns, Lightning & Apex, and reports & dashboards, among others. InvestorFlow layers everything from fund vehicles, deal teams, investments, and doc permissions to tear sheets and investment committee meeting requests. Then, the client-specific code leverages these two foundational adds for the optimal CRM experience.
In this post, we share highlights of the Salesforce Winter ’24 Release most impactful for alternative asset firms.
Transfer Ownership of Dashboard
Previously, if the owner/creator of a Dashboard left the organization, users would have to clone or recreate the dashboard to modify it. Now users can change the owner. For this feature, users must have the View All Data or the View My Team's Dashboard permission. This first must be enabled in Setup, under Reports and Dashboards Settings.
Unified Analytics Experiences for Tableau
Users can now add custom filters to explore Tableau views within CRM analytics dashboard components. For example, a user can add a filter by sector. Users can also now embed Tableau views into Lightning pages by adding them to Lighting web components, so all the analytics are in one place.
Mass Quick Actions on Related Lists
Users can easily create and edit multiple row-level records in Related Lists and update up to 100 records at a time. These functionalities are now available to all Salesforce platform users.
General enhancements include a permission set improvements, and improved color contrasts in UI elements (such as links) to align with accessibility standards. Other highlights range from new Flow features and the addition of generative AI capabilities in Marketing Cloud Engage.
